Property Tax Information
The Village of Salem Lakes collects the first or full portion of real estate taxes, and the full portion of personal property taxes, which are due on or before January 31st.
To make a payment on your property taxes:
- Mail your payment to: Village of Salem Lakes, PO Box 443, Salem, WI, 53168.
- Put your payment in the drop box located outside the front door of the Village Hall.
- Pay on-line using the Village Payment portal, Click Here
Tax bills are mailed out by the Kenosha County Treasurer's Office around the 15th of December. If your taxes are paid through an escrow account, please confirm the check is made payable to "Village of Salem Lakes", and mailed to the correct address of PO Box 443, Salem, WI 53168 - for all payments prior to January 31st.
If you wish to receive a receipt, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
If your home was your primary residence as of the first of year, you are eligible for the Lottery & Gaming Credit. Check your tax bill to be sure it reflects the credit. If you feel you qualify for the lottery credit for the current tax year, please complete the Lottery Credit Application on the WI Department of Revenue
If your permanent mailing address on your property tax bill has changed and you would like to update it, please fill out the Mailing Address Change Form below and email to the Village Treasurer or mail to our PO Box.
Storm Water Utility charges and Recycling/Solid Waste (garbage) are additional charges on your tax bill. Unpaid sewer utility bills, which incurred additional penalties, will also show as an additional charge on your tax bill.

Wondering if you have a lottery credit on your property?
PLEASE NOTE: The 2nd installment of real estate property taxes, which is due July 31st, must be paid to Kenosha County. The Village of Salem Lakes cannot accept ANY payments for real estate property taxes after January 31st. The 2nd installment can be paid in person at the Kenosha County Center, 19600 75th Street (STH 45 & 50), Bristol, WI, 53104.
