Lake Information
The Village of Salem Lakes is home to nine (9) beautiful area lakes with plenty of recreational activities. Some of these bodies of water were once home to ice harvesting mills, but now provide a place for year round recreational activities including fishing, hunting, boating, camping, biking, hiking, and golf courses. Our focus is on a natural balance for the preservation of natural areas of our lakes, while still maintaining public use. Here you will find information on lake use, news, and lake association meetings. The lakes boast a variety of fish for anglers. Species include Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Perch and Catfish. Fishing is great year around, whether it's on the banks, in a boat, or on the ice. Our lakes are also host to several ice fishing derbies during the winter months.
The Kenosha County website is a wonderful source to monitor lake or beach conditions as they are tested. Beaches may be put on "caution" or closed if they've had a high test for E-Coli. For Kenosha County beach results, please click here ...
At the June 10, 2024 Village Board Meeting the Village Board voted against allowing mooring buoys on any of the Villages nine lakes. There are no mooring buoys allowed on Village of Salem Lakes Lakes.
