VALMAR & YAWS SUBDIVISION SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION

The Village of Salem Lakes will be undertaking public infrastructure improvements in the Valmar and Yaws subdivisions during 2026. This project is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and upgrading essential public services and ensuring long-term system reliability.

What to Expect

As part of the installation of new public grinder pump systems, the Contractor will need to coordinate directly with each resident.

Before construction begins:

  • The Contractor will schedule a visit to your home to access your circuit breaker panel.
  • This inspection will determine whether your panel has capacity for a 30-amp breaker required for the new grinder pump system.
  • Residents will need to provide access to their electrical panel throughout the construction period as needed.

Following the inspection:

  • The Contractor will coordinate additional appointments to complete any required electrical upgrades.
  • Once electrical work is complete, the grinder pump system will be installed. The contractor shall complete removals and the installation of a fully operational new grinder pumps system within one working day.

Project Scope

The planned improvements include:

  • Upgrading electrical systems to support new grinder pump systems
  • Replacing deteriorating existing grinder pump units
  • Replacing aging isolation valves within existing manholes
  • Resurfacing streets following completion of sewer system work
