ATV/UTV ORDINANCE

UTV/ATV INFORMATION

WHAT: The Village of Salem Lakes passed an ordinance that went in to affect May 30, 2024 that allows ATV/UTV to be driven on VILLAGE MAINTAINED ROADS.

 

 WHERE: ONLY VILLAGE OF SALEM LAKES MAINTAINED ROADS. This does not include the Village of Paddock Lake or Private Roads. 

This does not include State Highways or County Roads. These are maintained by Kenosha County. Kenosha County HAS NOT APPROVED ATV/UTV to be driven on their roads. However, you may cross them to get to another Village Road. Examples include STH 83, STH 50, County Road SA, AH, B, C, F, JF, JS.

 

WHEN: Operation hours are 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

 

VEHICLE should not exceed the speed limit on the road or 35 mph.

 

VEHICLE should be operated on paved surfaces.

 

NOTE: There is no additional permit required by Salem Lakes. However, VEHICLE and OPERATORS will comply with all federal, state, and local laws. This includes Safety certificates and insurance for all operators.
