Driveway Permits

**IF YOU LIVE ON A VILLAGE ROAD, PERMITS ARE ADMINISTERED BY THE VILLAGE OF SALEM LAKES HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT **

Requirements for driveways:

• Must be at least 2 feet off the property line
• Must be approved by Salem Lakes Highway Department prior to permit being issued
• All new curb and gutter sections require a pre-pour inspection once it is framed
• Driveways can be no wider then 24' at the street
• If there is a curb and gutter, it should by 7" thick
• If no curb and gutter, it should be 4" thick

Documents to Submit

• Driveway Permit Application
• Homeowner Waiver (if you are doing the work yourself)
• Survey of plan showing location of driveway and property lines
