Village Clerk

The purpose of the Village Clerk's Office is to record, keep, index, and preserve the Village's valuable records and archives, contracts, easements, resolutions, ordinances and minutes.  We serve as a resource for those who need assistance.

Our daily tasks are clerical by virtue of the Wisconsin State Statutes, however, the role of our office is also to educate citizens within our community.
In addition, our office issues many licenses and permits including food wagon permits, liquor, operator, temporary picnic, amusement/vending machine, mobile home, dog, dog kennel and salvage yard licenses.  We also administer all elections for the municipality.  The mission of the Clerk’s Office is to provide the citizens and the businesses in our community with exemplary customer service in all areas.

Public Records

Public records may be requested, inspected and copies obtained during normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In some cases, records may require retrieval and therefore may not be immediately available for inspection.  Every effort will be made to respond to the records request as soon as is possible.

The cost of photocopying of records shall be $0.25 per side of page, which has been calculated to be the actual, necessary and direct cost of reproduction.  The cost of audio recordings of meetings is $5.00 per flash drive.  In some cases, such costs may go beyond simply copying a requested record.  In these cases, the Records Custodian may charge for any and all costs associated with complying with an open records request up to and including applicable shipping, mailing and hourly wages of the Records Custodian or designee thereof.  Per §19.35(3)(f) a prepayment of such costs associated with an open record request in access of $5.00 may be required prior to process the records request.  Any record requests from the State Voter Registration System will be charged a minimum of $30.00.
